About the Northwood Police Department
The Northwood Police Department is a full-time police department in northwest Ohio and a suburb of Toledo, Ohio. The Northwood Police Department is a progressive law enforcement agency with a staff of twenty-seven (27) personnel. The agency is composed of a Chief, Captain, Detective Sergeant, Detective Patrolman, 3 Patrol Sergeants, 11 Patrolmen, 1 S.R.O/D.A.R.E. Officer, 1 part-time Code Enforcement Officer, 5 full-time plus 2 part-time Dispatchers covering 8 square miles with a population of over 5,400.
While enforcing the law and keeping the City safe is the primary duty of the Northwood Police Department, employees have gone above and beyond to build positive relationships with the community through numerous outreach events. Some of these events include shop with a cop, safety town, coffee with cops, Police Department tours, and cider with cops. Participating in such events help form a bond between the Department and the residents in which they are serving.
